What Files and Details Are Needed for a CNC Machining RFQ?

A useful CNC quotation starts with a controlled definition of the part and the order. A model helps communicate geometry; a drawing or equivalent approved specification should make acceptance requirements explicit.

Drawing and model

Provide the current 3D model when available and a dimensioned 2D drawing showing units, revision, datums, critical dimensions, general tolerances, notes, and finish requirements. Identify the file that governs if model and drawing differ.

Material and condition

State the exact grade, temper or condition where relevant, and any required material documentation. If substitutions may be considered, list the approval process instead of leaving the choice implicit.

Quantity and schedule

List prototype quantity, initial order quantity, expected repeat quantity or annual demand, target sample date, and requested delivery window. These are planning inputs, not an assumed supplier commitment.

Quality and acceptance

Identify critical-to-function features, required measurement method or report, sampling expectations, traceability needs, and how nonconforming product should be handled. Request evidence only where it matters to the part and contract.

Finishing, packaging, and shipping

Specify coatings or surface treatment, appearance criteria, protection for transit, labeling, delivery destination, and requested Incoterms or freight assumptions. If a requirement is undecided, mark it as an open question.

Before sending files

Use an approved transfer method, share only the current revision, and state confidentiality and retention requirements. The Beizhou web RFQ drawing upload must remain disabled until its private storage, scanning, and operational handling are configured.
